Riedel Communications Austria
The CdH delegation was invited to visit Riedel Communications Austria, a subsidiary of Riedel Communications GmbH of Wuppertal, Germany.
Riedel Communications Austria, a subsidiary of Riedel Communications GmbH of Wuppertal, Germany. Founded in 1987, the parent company develops, produces and sells innovative, real-time networks for video, audio, data and communication solutions for various sectors. Sectors include radio broadcasting, pro-audio, event, sport, theatre, security and industry. Riedel employs over 700 staff at 25 sites in Europe, Australia, Asia and the USA.
Riedel Austria, the Austrian subsidiary, is
an engineering development hub located in Vienna and is staffed by talented
software and hardware engineers involved in the development of world class
products for the broadcasting and event industry sectors. The staff of the Vienna hub comprises a
hardware team which specialises in PCB layouts and mechanical design, and a
software team with expertise in front end and back end development, automated
test software, and FPGA programming. As such, the company is uniquely qualified
for the development of glass fibre transmission systems, video processing and
wireless communication, which are core technologies of the Riedel product lines
under the names of “Artist”, “Bolero”, and “MediorNet”.
Mr Jürgen Dinez-Malleck, General Manager of the Austrian operation, and Mr Gernot Butschek, Head of Development, welcomed the CdH delegation and gave a joint presentation about the company and its activities. One of the key areas of expertise in which the company excels is in removing interference “clutter” from digital transmission streams. This results in much improved clarity of, for example, audio communications.
After the presentations the visitors were
taken on a tour of the company’s premises and were shown the development and
test facilities and also some of the company’s products. This was followed by the provision of light
refreshments on Riedel Austria’s roof-top terrace where the delegates could
remove their covid masks – as this was the first on-site event undertaken by
the CdH after the peak of the 2020-2022 covid pandemic.
