Interxion
The "hotel for servers"was host for the club for one special evening. From CEO Christian Studeny and his team they learnt more about the world of connectivity, security standards in the computer business and how server farms look like.
Interxion (to be pronounced "inter-action"), Austria's largest data center, invited the club into it's high security server rooms, to be entered by finger print check only, and shared some information about the European as well as international internet business and prominent customers like bwin or Asfinag.
Mr. Studeny exaplained the several forms of space to be rented in his quite unusual data center, incomparable to any other data center in Austria regarding its services: like in a hotel the customers servers "live" in "standard rooms", "suites" or "private rooms" - starting from a few square meters up to 2000m², where they can store their own equipment or even outsource their whole server-activities.
Interxion provides 400 carriers all over Europe, working closely together with local providers like Telekom Austria and is connected to the largest fiber network it the world, providing a full set of services that allows more than 1,200 companies to securely store, monitor and maintain mission-critical data in 31 data centres in 11 countries.

The success of Interxions approach is reflected in our financial record. Since 2006 Interxion enjoyed 22 consecutive quarters of growth in organic revenue and EBITDA.
After the data center tour the trade delegates had the opportunity to ask individual questions and enjoy the evening at the delicious buffet together with the charming Interxion-team.
