Bratislava
Country Special Slovakia Bratislava by Twin City Liner
The CdH trip in May was a special one, because the event took place in Bratislava, where, on the one hand, the trade delegates went by a very special boat, and, on the other hand, this event was in cooperation between the Club of Trade Delegates and Headquarters Austria.
HQ Austria is an independent, non-political organisation with the aim of solving company headquarters-related problems, together with it?s partners; the Austrian Business Agency (ABA) and the Wirtschaftskammer Wien. It supports the setting up and managing of company headquarters and intermediates common interests. In cooperation with other organisations and experts, HQ Austria provides a platform for discussing current questions and developments that relate to regional and global headquarters.
The members of both the CdH and HQAustia enjoyed the trip on the "Twin City Liner", a light aluminium, high-speed catamaran with water jet propulsion, although it rained lightly for much of the trip. The heart of the "Twin City Liner" is a pair of diesel engines and special water jet propulsion units, which can propel the ship to speeds of up to 70 km/h.
Arriving in Bratislava 75 minutes after departing from Vienna, the trade delegates took a walk through the historic section of the town, guided by Mr Peter Majercik, senior consultant at ICUnet and head of the Business Development Team Austria/Eastern Europe at ICUnet AG, who works as an intercultural consultant for Slovakia. Afterwards, at the main reception of the event at the Falkensteiner Hotel, he gave a few insights into his business in relation to Slovakia.
Also, a general presentation about the Slovakian economy was given by Mag. Patrick Sagmeister, the Austrian trade delegate in Bratislava, supplemented by impressions of doing business in Slovakia by Dipl.Ing. Stefan Knasko, ICS Industrial Cable Slovaika, and JUDr. Andrej Leontiev, e/n/w/c Rechtsanwälte.
The entertaining and informative event was also attended by Igor Skocek, secretary of the Slovakian embassy, and the programme ended with a buffet meal and a safe trip back home to Vienna in the late evening.
