General Meeting
CdH Annual General Meeting: A review of past events and future plans. Honorary membership for Hildegard Depiné.
US commercial counselor, Christopher Quinlivan, gave the CdH club members a warm welcome to "America House" in Vienna. The host reflected on the long tradition of the CdH and its close cooperation with the US embassy, both present and future, and he told the audience that he held the clubs efforts in high esteem.
President Ron Willis thanked Mr. Quinlivan for inviting the trade delegates to the "America House" and asked all present to offer their thoughts of sympathy to the people suffering from the recent catastrophy in Japan.
Together, the gathered membership looked back on a long list of interesting and well attended events of the CdH since the beginning of 2010 and Ron Willis gave a short snapshot of the furture plans for 2011: they include visits to GIS Gebühren Info Service, Rail Cargo Austria, Gabriel Chemie, VAMED, province of Steiermark, Österreichischer Gewerbeverein and Stift Klosterneuburg. The Hungarian embassy will organize a visit a Györ in June, together with the club of trade delegates. Also, the US-embassy invited the club to take part in the "Lakeside Conference on Intelligent Mobility 2012".
The new CdH-newsletter was presented by Johanna Sassarak. It will be sent out to members four times a year. In it will be found summaries of the Club?s activities during the previous months and also notification of our planned future events. There may also be some tips regarding future economic and cultural events (CdH-Newsletter Download).
Ron Willis and the CdH committee thanked Hildegard Depiné for her long engagement and dedication to the club of trade delegates. She was awarded with honorary membership of the CdH.
Hildegard will be succeeded by Mag. Martin Müllner (Austrian Business Agency) as treasurer of the CdH. Welcome Martin!
