General Meeting
The club's annual general meeting for 2011 was held at Bank Austria on 8 March this year, where President Ron Willis and host Nikolaus Pálffy from Bank Austria gave the trade delegates a warm welcome.
This year's AGM focused on the re-election of the CdH president as well as of the whole CdH board (Secretary General Friedrich Schmidl, Deputy Secretary General Nikolaus Pálffy, Treasurer Mag. Martin Müllner, Deputy Treasurer Dr. Manfred Weinschenk, Secretary Dr. Doris Dobida, Deputy Secretary Johanna L. Sassarak and consulting member Igor Belov) who all stood for re-election and were unanimously re-elected.
As proposed by the CdH board, the participating members passed the resolution to hold a CdH general meeting only every second year in order to lay more emphasis on meetings with Austrian companies and institutions than on internal meetings. Therefore it was also necessary to alter the president?s and the board?s period of office from three years to two-years, which was also agreed upon.
Moreover, together, the gathered membership looked back on a long list of interesting and well attended events of the CdH since the beginning of 2011 as recounted by Ron Willis, and Friedrich Schmidl gave a short snapshot of the future plans for 2012. These include visits to Trenkwalder, the leading human resources service provider in Central and Eastern Europe bringing 70,000 employees in contact with 15,000 clients in all areas of business at 350 locations in 19 countries; and ÖBB-Postbus, the Austrian market leader in regional public transport on the road. Postbus owns about 2,200 buses that are operated on 1,000 routes and provide 30,000 journeys daily throughout Austria, and the company is a best practice example of successful turnaround management. This autumn, our annual provincial visit will take us to the administrative centre of Lower Austria and give us an impression of the economic area surrounding Vienna and much more.
Finally it is our pleasure to announce that the club will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year. So you can be sure of an event worth attending this autumn!
