In Austria, Knorr-Bremse GmbH has about 950 employees at two sites as well as 850 employees at its sites in the Netherlands, Germany, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, and the Czech Republic.
Welcoming the Trade Delegates at the company's site in Mödling, close to Vienna, Managing Director Jörg Branschädel gave a presentation of Knorr-Bremse worldwide and the special sectors located at the Austrian site.
Within the Group, the Austrian Knorr-Bremse GmbH possesses the development competency for magnetic track brakes, eddy current brakes, flange devices, windscreen wiper and washing systems, sanding systems and brake test units, all of which are also manufactured at its Mödling site. Additionally, the company is responsible for the distribution of rail vehicle systems in 14 Central and Eastern European countries and operates its own branches in Poland and Romania.
Detailed presentations by Volker Jörgl and Peter Krieg took the Trade Delegates to the very specific and exciting world of modern track brakes or sanding and wiper systems, followed by a site tour, guided by Kurt Haselsteiner.
